The STT-8x42ED combines 8× magnification with 42mm Objective Lenses and an ED objective configuration. The optical system uses roof prisms with phase and dielectric coatings, together with FMC broadband multilayer anti-reflection coatings.
Optical transmission is ≥87%, with a 6.1° field of view and 21.1mm eye relief, supporting comfortable viewing during extended Outdoor Observation.
A 905nm semiconductor laser with Class 1 eye-safe laser classification is integrated into the binocular optical system. Depending on configuration, the ranging range can be 5–1500m, 5–1800m or 5–2400m.
Ranging accuracy is specified as ±0.5m + 1‰, with measurement time ≤0.3 seconds under high-reflection target conditions.
The rangefinder supports ordinary Distance Measurement, continuous SCAN, two-point height measurement, angle measurement and horizontal distance measurement.
Built-in processing algorithms support multi-point averaging, distance gating and interference filtering.
The housing combines a magnesium alloy body with modified PVC rubber. The binocular is designed for demanding outdoor environments and is specified with IP67/IP65 protection.
Dimensions are approximately 146 × 111 × 51mm, with a weight of about 800g for the raised-back version. A 1/4"-20 tripod interface is available as an option.

What are 8×42 Laser Rangefinder Binoculars?
They combine conventional binocular observation with an integrated Laser Rangefinder. The 8×42 configuration provides 8× magnification and 42mm Objective Lenses, while the laser module measures target distance.
What is the advantage of the ED configuration?
The STT-8x42ED uses an ED objective configuration. It is designed as the higher optical configuration within this 8×42 product family.
How far can the STT-8x42ED measure?
Depending on the selected configuration, the specified ranging distance is up to 1500m, 1800m or 2400m.
