The STP-8x42F uses an 8×42 optical system with roof prisms, phase and dielectric coatings and FMC broadband multilayer anti-reflection coating.
The optical system provides ≥87% transmission, 6.1° field of view, 5.25mm exit pupil and 21.1mm eye relief.
The integrated rangefinder uses a 905nm semiconductor laser with Class 1 laser classification.
Available ranging configurations include 5–1500m, 5–1800m and 5–2400m. Ranging accuracy is specified as ±0.5m + 1‰, with measurement time ≤0.3 seconds under high-reflection target conditions.
The STP-8x42F supports ordinary distance measurement, continuous SCAN, two-point height measurement, angle measurement and horizontal distance measurement.
The ranging system uses processing functions such as multi-point averaging, distance gating and interference filtering.
The flat-back STP configuration weighs approximately 790g and measures about 146 × 111 × 51mm.
The housing uses magnesium alloy and modified PVC rubber, with IP67/IP65 protection specified. A 1/4"-20 tripod interface is available as an option.
